Makalu Base Camp Trekking
This trek takes you to Makalu Base Camp (5250 m), now designated as Makalu Barun National Park and Conservation Area. Mt. Makalu (8463 m) is the fifth highest peak in the world. The Makalu Base camp trek is a true adventure with scenery so beautiful that it will never tire you. The trek starts with a flight to Tumlingtar and heads up the Aurn River valley to Sedua and Num, then crossing Shipton La Pass (4210 m) into the upper Barun river valley for a close look at Makalu and Chamlang Himal. This trek visits one of the most remote and unfrequented areas of Nepal. The Barun valley is a part of a huge international protected area under the agreement between the governments of Nepal and China, which comprises of 2330 sq. km of National Park and 830 sq. km of conservation area in Nepal alone.

Day 01: Fly to Tumlingtar (950 m/3,116 ft) and start the trek
Day 02: Trek to Mani-Bhanjyang, 5-6 hrs walk
Day 03: Trek to Chichila, 5-6 hrs walk
Day 04: Trek to Num, 5-6 hrs walk
Day 05: Trek to Seduwa, 5 hrs walk
Day 06: Trek to Tashi Gaun, 3-4 hrs walk
Day 07: Trek to Kahuma Danda, 5-6 hours walk
Day 08: Trek to Mumbuk, 5-6 hrs walk
Day 09: Trek to Nehe Kharka, 6-7 hrs walk
Day 10: Trek to Sherson (4,600m/15,088ft) 6-7 hrs walk
Day 11: Acclimatization day
Day 12: Free day at Sherson for a day excursion
Day 13: Trek to Yangri Kharka, 6-7 hrs walk
Day 14: Trek to Mumbuk, 5-6 hrs walk
Day 15: Trek to Kahuma, 5-6 hours walk
Day 16: Trek to Navagaun, 6-7 hrs walk
Day 17: Trek to Num, 6-7 hrs walk
Day 18: Trek to Chichila, 5-6 hrs walk
Day 19: Trek to Khadbari, 6-7 hrs walk
Day 20: Conclude trek at Tumlingtar
