Ghandruk Ghorepani Trekking

Ghandruk Ghorepani trekking is in Annapurna region which is north-central part of Nepal. Ghorepani and Ghandruk are the two separate villages Development Committee. Ghorepani is famous for rhododendron forest as well as the fantastic panoramic sunrise, sunset view from Pun Hill 3210 meter which is one hour climb from Ghorepani. Ghandruk is a popular tourist place for trek in Annapurna area of Nepal, with easy trails and various accommodation possibilities, Gurung culture, Monastery, best views to Annapurna mountains including beautiful massif view of Machhapuchhare, call “Fishtail” from Ghandruk.

Ghandruk Ghorepani treks offers the spectacular mountain scenery along with charming villages inhabited particularly by the Gurungs, Poon & Magars, dense rhododendron forests full of birds and deep sub-tropical valleys, all set below the Annapurna’s with the picturesque peak of Machhapuchhare (Fishtail Peak) dominating the skyline. One of the important highlight of this trip is to make a climb on Pun Hill, possibly the Most Spectacular Mountain scrapes on Earth. When sunrises, it touches the snow-capped summits the Himalayan giants, Dhaulagiri (8,167m) and Annapurna (8,091m) along with a maze of other peaks, there gradually appear, just like magic that your eye could not believe. Beautiful and ornate village of Ghandruk, home of Annapurna Conservation Area Project, Gurung Museum, culture and custom, Monastery are interesting to visit. Every day 3PM you have a chance to visit the ACAP project to discover at first hand the conservation work being carried out in Ghandruk village.

Ghandruk Ghorepani treks or know as Poon Hill Trek, start from beautiful tourist capital Pokhara after one day drive or 25 minutes fly from Kathmandu. Naya Pul mean new bridge is the originally starting or ending point of Ghandruk Ghorepani trekking. The famous of Ghorepani trek is Gurung tropical village Ghandruk, where can be reach one day trekking from Pokhara. After three days trekking bring you the panoramic sunrise view from Poon Hill and continue two days walk to NayaPul than one and half an hour drive to Pokhara.

 

Day 1: Your arrival in Kathmandu and transfer from the airport to your hotel

Day 2: Kathmandu – Pokhara (900 m)

Day 3: Pokhara – Nayapul (trek begins) – Tikhedhunga (1577 m)

Day 4: Tikhedhunga – Ghorepani (2875 m)

Day 5: Ghorepani – Poonhill (3210 m) – Tadapani (2600 m)

Day 6: Tadapani – Ghandruk (1950 m)

Day 7: Ghandruk – Nayapul (trek ends) – Pokhara

Day 8: Pokhara – Kathmandu (farewell dinner)

Day 9: Farewell (transfer to Kathmandu Airport for your international flight)

Itinerary details :

Day 1: Your arrival in Kathmandu and transfer from the airport to your hotel
On your arrival in Kathmandu, a representative of  vivid nepal Treks will greet you at the airport and transfer you to Hotel Friends Home or Hotel Mums Home or a similar grade hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu – Pokhara (900 m)
Take a tourist bus to Pokhara (826m), which normally takes about 6 hours. Spend the night in a deluxe hotel in Lakeside area.

Day 3: Pokhara – Nayapul (trek begins) – Tikhedhunga (1577 m)
Drive to Nayapul (1050 m) by car. After lunch and a short recess, trek to Tikhedhunga (1577 m) and spend the night in a local teahouse.

Day 4: Tikhedhunga – Ghorepani (2875 m)
Trek to Ghorepani (2875 m), which takes about 5-6 hours, and stay overnight at a local teahouse. On your way lies Ulleri village where friendly Pun people live a very simple life. Enjoyable views of mountains will help you ease your walk.

Day 5: Ghorepani – Poonhill (3210 m) – Tadapani (2600 m)
Wake up very early in the morning and hike up to Poonhill (3210 m), which takes roughly 1 hour. If the weather is fine, you can enjoy an outstanding view of sunrise over the Annapurna Himalayan range. Some fifteen different mountain peaks (including Dhaulagiri) are also visible from there – no wonder the place is regarded as one of the best viewpoints. After enjoying the sunrise, you will descend back to Ghorepani (1 hour approx.) and have breakfast. After a short recess, resume trekking for about 5 hours to reach Tadapani (2600 m). You will be spending yet another night in a local teahouse.

Day 6: Tadapani – Ghandruk (1950 m)
Trek for about 3 hours and arrive at Ghandruk (1950 m) mainly through forests, hence the easiest segment of the entire trip. After lunch, you can explore the village, inhabited mainly by the Gurung ethnic community. You can also visit the local museum as well as a monastery. Spend the night in a local teahouse.

Day 7: Ghandruk – Pokhara
Trek down to Nayapul (1050 m) in about 4 hours. It takes about 1 hour to drive to Pokhara. Explore the city in the afternoon, take a refreshing walk in the Lakeside area, and spend the night in your hotel room.

Day 8: Pokhara – Kathmandu
Drive back to Kathmandu or if you wish, board a flight (approx. 45 minutes) by paying about USD 110 extra. In the evening, we will take you out for a farewell dinner at one of the renowned restaurants in Kathmandu offering authentic Nepalese dishes and live cultural show. After dinner, we will drive you back to your hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 9: Departure

Wake up, have breakfast then airport transfer on your required time
